1969 MGB for sale

1969 MGB
My wife wants a newer car with all today’s creature comforts (AC, P/S, Automatic, etc….) So she’s ready to sell her baby after 2.5 years of daily driving fun. Previous owner put less than 400 miles on it and stated he purchased from a widow’s garage where it sat for years (10+?).Speedometer reads 35,267 and read 24,407 when it was rebuilt, thus actual mileage is unknown. We do know there has been less than 8,000 miles driven since the following work was completed at an estimated cost of over $7000.
This car has had extensive restoration work done on it as follows by us and the previous owner. Engine & transmission rebuilt w/new clutch. New Weber carburetor. New alternator. New 12 volt battery system (replaces twin 6 volt). new halogen headlights, new electronic fuel pump. Radiator cleaned and flushed, new drive shaft and U joint. New valve assembly, head, pushrods, overhaul speedometer, rebuilt front end. Re-upholster front seats. New carpet kit, New CD player/radio and speakers, New brake master cylinder and rear shoes, new (re-built) Bosch starter, new throttle cable. Paint is in, not perfect, but very decent shape. Comes with fiberglass removable hardtop. Has soft-top with 3 small tears (frame is in decent serviceable condition). Tires on car in great shape with less than 8,000 miles (& extra new tube). Runs and drives great!

977 MGB for sale

We have a 1977 MGB for sale with approximately 52,000 original miles on the odometer. We are the third local adult owner and we have copies of routine service receipts, since the car was first sold in California in August of 1976. But for a new cassette AM/FM radio, the car has never been modified nor has the engine or running gear ever been rebuilt. All gauges work properly – including the clock. The car was not originally equipped with an overdrive transmission; but those transmissions are still available.
As it has been garaged for many years, it is very clean and still has the shine of the original paint – harvest gold. With the autumn leaf interior and the black dashboard and console trim, the combination of the tricolors is very pleasant indeed. To my knowledge, the car has never been an accident. Other pictures are available. Lack of use and constant storage costs force this sale. It is our hope that the car will find a new home with an MG Club enthusiast and enjoyed for years to come. If the car is not sold by Labor Day or by mid-September, 2006, serious consideration will be given to donating the car to a local charity for auction purposes. Price: $5,500 or best offer. The car may be seen on the Stanford University campus, Stanford/Palo Alto, California, at a convenient time for both buyer and seller.
